Hello Group,

I have a question about the output produced by SQLPing3.

I gathered a list of IPs to scan and scanned them. The output contains a huge amount of info about the nodes on our network.

What I am looking for is a way to determine what nodes on my network have some sort of SQL Server that requires a license. I am in the process of doing an internal audit and only need to see nodes that I need a license for.

Is there a way to tell this from the full output report or what option should I use for detection method to limit my results to just the nodes I need to license?

TIA,

Michael

Hmm - for that you may need to use another tool. SQLPing is designed to find SQL Server instances but not identify the particular flavor of SQL Server nor it's licensing status.

On most of my customers, Microsoft SMS is used to identify the SQL Server editions.

Microsoft may have free tools to assist you with this as well.
