I am developing a security lab around SQLPing3 and I need to know how the stealth scan works.

Thanks,

What would you like to know? The scan simply looks in Active Directory for any SQL Server registrations and it also looks at the Browser Service to see if any SQL Servers have broadcast their precence to any browse masters.

These methods are not near as effecting as active scanning but if you need to stay under the radar it can give you a good place to start.
