Does anyone currently run SQL Server 2005 in Production with the mdf and ldf files on an encrypted volume, encrypted by Encrypted File System? What was the performance impact like? If a large part of the database can be cached in memory, would the impact be mitigated because the data only needs to be encrypted when begin mapped from disk to memory?
